How do I translate an XML or RSS product feed?
ConveyThis can translate an XML or RSS product feed, for example the feed you send to Google Merchant Center. You create a translated feed address, and ConveyThis translates the feed when that address is opened.
How do I create the translated feed address?
Start with the address of your original feed, for example:
https://example.com/feeds/products.xml
Then build this address:
https://app.conveythis.com/feed/YOUR_API_KEY/SOURCE/TARGET/example.com/feeds/products.xml
- YOUR_API_KEY: your Public API key from your Panel.
- SOURCE: the two-letter code of your website’s language, for example en.
- TARGET: the two-letter code of the language to translate into, for example es.
- After that, the address of your feed without https://.
Example for English to Spanish:
https://app.conveythis.com/feed/pub_xxxxxxxx/en/es/example.com/feeds/products.xml
The website in the feed address must be one of your websites in ConveyThis, and both languages must be set up for it.
How do I edit the feed translations?
When the translated feed address is opened, its translations are added to your translations for that website. You can edit them like any other translation, see ¿Cómo edito mis traducciones?
When your original feed changes, open the translated address again to update the translations.
Tips
- The first line of your feed should declare the type and encoding, for example
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>. - A very large feed can take time to open. Split it into smaller files if needed.
- If some fields aren’t translated, write to [correo electrónico protegido].
