BigCommerce translation: common questions

How do I install ConveyThis on BigCommerce?
Create a ConveyThis account, choose BigCommerce, and enter your store domain and languages. In BigCommerce open Script Manager and click Create a Script: set Location to Head, pages to All pages, category to Essential and type to Script, paste the ConveyThis code into Script contents and save. The BigCommerce setup guide shows each field.
Which parts of my store are translated?
Everything the script can see on your storefront pages: product names and descriptions, options, categories, brand pages, filters, the cart, and your content pages. Because BigCommerce decides which scripts run on the checkout, preview your checkout in each language before launch.
Can I correct machine translations of product descriptions?
Yes. Edit any sentence in context with the visual editor. Translation memory reuses your corrections wherever the same text appears across products, and the glossary keeps brand and product names consistent. On larger plans you can export and import translations as CSV or TMX files for a translator.
Can my BigCommerce store use language sub-domains or folders?
Yes, on the Business plan or higher. Sub-domains (fr.yourstore.com, one CNAME record per language) are the recommended option because your store stays on BigCommerce; sub-directories (yourstore.com/fr/) route the whole domain through ConveyThis. How many words will my catalog need?
That depends on which products shoppers really open in each language: ConveyThis counts a word only when a translated page is displayed to a visitor, and crawler hits are not billed. Try your store on the Free plan (10,000 words, one language), then choose Starter at $12/month (60,000 words) or Business at $24/month (200,000 words, three languages); annual plans cost ten times the monthly amount. Larger catalogs have bigger tiers on the 価格設定ページ.
