What ConveyThis does on your Webflow site

  • Translates pages and CMS items
  • Picks up new content
  • Visual editor on your live site
  • Glossary on paid plans
  • Language URLs from the Business plan

How ConveyThis works on Webflow

Once the snippet is live, ConveyThis translates your published site: static pages and CMS collection items, plus form labels, placeholders and buttons. When you publish a new CMS item or change a page, ConveyThis picks up the new text. Tomorrow's blog post is translated without a manual step.

ConveyThis works on the published site. It does not edit your Webflow project, and your translations are stored in your ConveyThis account. Setup takes a few minutes.

ConveyThis or Webflow Localization?

When ConveyThis is the better fit

Webflow prices its Localize add-on per locale, on top of your site plan. Ten locales on Localize Advanced cost $290 a month, billed yearly. ConveyThis Optimum covers 14 languages for $160 a month. Webflow lists its custom translation glossary on Enterprise only, while ConveyThis includes a glossary on paid plans from Starter. If you sell with Webflow Ecommerce, Webflow's help center says Localize can't localize products, categories and Webflow Ecommerce pages. ConveyThis doesn't use Webflow locales. It translates the text of your published pages. Webflow prices were checked on September 28, 2026, and the help center article was updated on September 29, 2026.

When Webflow Localization is the better fit

Choose Localize if your site lives only on Webflow and needs 1 to 3 locales. At that size the two cost about the same, and Localize works inside the Designer. Localize is also the better choice if each market needs its own styles or images, or translated URL slugs (on Advanced). It serves every locale in a subdirectory with hreflang tags on all tiers and has no page-view limit. ConveyThis needs the Business plan for language URLs and counts monthly translated page loads on all plans.

Language URLs and SEO on Webflow

Each language on its own address, from the Business plan

By default, visitors change language with the switcher and stay on the same address. Language subdomains and subdirectories need the Business plan or higher. Each language then gets its own address. The page includes hreflang tags and a translated title and meta description. With subdomains such as fr.example.com, you add one CNAME record per language, and your main site stays on Webflow hosting. With subdirectories such as example.com/fr/, the whole domain points through ConveyThis, so a wrong DNS record can take your site offline. We recommend subdomains for most Webflow sites.

AI translation, then your edits

Your Webflow pages and CMS items arrive in each language as an AI and machine translation. Treat that as a draft: check the home page, your CMS templates and any form first. To change a phrase, open the visual editor, click it on the published site and rewrite it. The new wording is used wherever that sentence already appears. Brand names and product names stay as you set them with glossary rules, available from Starter. For legal or pricing text, a human translator can be ordered per word from the text editor. Run the whole process on your own Webflow site with the Free plan.

Your translators work outside the Designer

Team access without Webflow seats

With Localize, translators work in your Webflow workspace or through a partner app. ConveyThis translators work in the ConveyThis dashboard instead. On the Pro plan or higher, you invite translators and managers to your account, and their edits go live as soon as they save them. Pro also covers 3 websites, so your Webflow site and a Shopify or WordPress site can share one ConveyThis account.

Images and visitor language

Localized images and automatic language choice

Webflow assets with words baked in, such as hero images or product screenshots, need a localized file per language: upload a replacement image, video or PDF and ConveyThis serves it on that language. Text inside images is not read or translated, but alt text is. With Starter or a higher plan, a visitor whose browser is set to Spanish can land on the Spanish version automatically. The switcher accepts your own CSS, so it can match your Webflow typography and colors.

Common questions about Webflow translation

What does ConveyThis cost for a Webflow site?

ConveyThis is billed separately from your Webflow site plan. You pay for translated words and languages. Each word is counted once, the first time it is translated. Each plan also includes a monthly number of translated page loads. The Free plan has 2,500, Starter 15,000 and Business 50,000. A busy site can need a bigger plan than its word count suggests. A Webflow landing page can start on the Free plan, and a marketing site with a blog typically needs Starter or Business.

Compare all plans on the pricing page.

Do my translated pages appear in Google on the Free plan?

Not as separate pages. On the Free and Starter plans, every language uses the same address as your original page. Visitors switch language with the language switcher on that address. Search engines see one page per address, so your other languages don't appear as separate results. To give each language its own address, you need the Business plan or higher and a DNS change. Each language then gets hreflang tags and a translated title and meta description, so search engines can find and index it.

Read the URL structure guide.

What happens when I reach my word limit?
Pages that are already translated keep showing in every language. New text stays in your original language until you upgrade.
Can I keep some text in the original language?
Yes, on paid plans. Exclude whole pages with a rule, or single elements by their class or ID. You can also add the conveythis-no-translate class to an element in Webflow. For single words such as brand names, use the glossary.
